Note: The transactions reported here refer to legal insider trading — purchases, sales, and other dealings in company securities by executives, directors, and major shareholders, which are required by law to be disclosed to the SEC via Form 4 filings within two business days of the transaction. This article covers the top 100 most significant transactions by dollar value from today's filings. This is entirely distinct from illegal insider trading, which involves buying or selling securities based on material, non-public information in violation of US federal securities law and equivalent legislation in other jurisdictions.
Insider trading activity on October 23, 2026, showed a decidedly bearish tilt, with sales outpacing purchases by a wide margin. Of the 100 total trades recorded, only 12 were buys, while 88 were sales. The disparity in volume was further underscored by the sheer magnitude of sales compared to buys, particularly in high-profile companies.
The largest insider purchases were concentrated in just a few transactions. XCF Global, Inc. saw two identical buys of $142.1 million each by EEME Energy SPV I, LLC, a 10% owner, marking the day’s most significant bullish moves. Pampa Energía S.A. also recorded two substantial purchases of $35.1 million each by Director Marcos Marcelo Mindlin. Additionally, PepsiCo, Inc. Director Robert C. Pohlad acquired $23.7 million worth of shares, rounding out the top buys. These transactions, while notable, were overshadowed by the scale of sales elsewhere.
The selling activity was far more widespread and involved much larger sums. InnSuites Hospitality Trust’s President & CEO James F. Wirth led the pack with a staggering $2.01 billion sale. Eli Lilly and Company’s shareholder, Lilly Endowment, Inc., proposed a sale of $368.7 million, while CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. CEO George Kurtz filed for two separate proposed sales of $141.0 million each. Snowflake Inc. Director Frank Slootman also unloaded $94.9 million in shares. These sales, particularly the billion-dollar transaction by InnSuites’ CEO, dominated the day’s activity.
