Note: The transactions reported here refer to legal insider trading — purchases, sales, and other dealings in company securities by executives, directors, and major shareholders, which are required by law to be disclosed to the SEC via Form 4 filings within two business days of the transaction. This article covers the top 100 most significant transactions by dollar value from today's filings. This is entirely distinct from illegal insider trading, which involves buying or selling securities based on material, non-public information in violation of US federal securities law and equivalent legislation in other jurisdictions.
Today’s insider trading activity leaned heavily bearish, with sales outpacing purchases by a significant margin. Out of 100 total trades, only 18 were buys, while 82 were sales, reflecting a cautious or profit-taking stance among corporate insiders. Despite the overall trend, a few notable bullish bets stood out, particularly in high-profile names.
The largest insider purchases were concentrated in a handful of companies, with Kodiak Sciences Inc. (KOD) leading the way. Baker Bros. Advisors LP, a director at KOD, acquired $60.5 million worth of shares, signaling strong confidence in the biotech firm. Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK-B, BRK-A) also featured prominently, with its 10% owner—Berkshire Hathaway itself—making multiple large purchases totaling $52.4 million in BRK-B, BRK-A, and Lennar Corporation (LEN). An additional $39.9 million buy in BRK-A further underscored the conglomerate’s bullish stance on its own stock.
On the sell side, NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA) and Broadcom Inc. (AVGO) dominated the activity. Mark A. Stevens, a director at NVDA, sold $300.1 million worth of shares, while Henry Samueli, a director at AVGO, offloaded $250 million in two separate transactions. Another entity linked to Broadcom, D95GT, LLC, filed for a proposed sale of $225 million in shares. Hut 8 Corp. (HUT) also saw significant selling, with officer and director Michael Ho proposing a $139.1 million sale, adding to the day’s bearish tone.
